Equality, mutual respect between the sexes, freedom for all, some traditional societies give women prominent social and spiritual roles. Among these peoples, women, recognized in their singularity and skills, are masters of their destiny. From the Palawan animist tribes of the Philippine primary forest, to the Moso ethnic group in the foothills of the Himalayas, from the Khasi territories of North-East India, to the Malaysian people of Badjao, Pierre de Vallombreuse, share on this book his sensitive vision of women and men with customs, beliefs and traditions as rich and precious but also fragile. The photographer allows us to discover these isolated and singular indigenous peoples, for whom mutual aid and individual respect are primordial values, elevated to the rank of art of living.
