Philippines - Archipel des échanges

This beautiful book is devoted to the arts of pre-colonial Philippines. It was published on the occasion of an exhibition at the Musée du Quai Branly in April 2013, the first major event in France dedicated to the subject in the last twenty years. If contributions from international specialists seek to reveal the richness of the material and immaterial exchanges that cross the archipelago since the history of their settlement by the Austronesians, the catalog is illustrated with an iconographic material of first order: historical works selected in the public collections Filipino, American, European, as well as in private collections: archaeological objects, gold jewelry, ornaments, ritual objects, weapons, textiles ...
